Porcelain Veneers

What are porcelain veneers?
If patients want something that is more stain-resistant and less likely to chip than bonding, there are porcelain veneers. Like bonding, porcelain veneers are also used to change tooth color, shape, and size. Porcelain veneers give teeth a straighter appearance and close spaces. Porcelain veneers are thin porcelain shells that are fabricated in a dental laboratory. Porcelain veneers are similar to fake fingernails. Bonded to the teeth porcelain veneers use special cement. Porcelain veneers are more expensive than bonding since there is a laboratory process involved. Some prefer porcelain veneers to bonding when there are several teeth involved because I can achieve a more consistent cosmetic result.

The Procedure
Porcelain veneers are custom created to precisely fit your teeth. On your first visit, we carefully remove a thin layer of enamel. Then we take impressions of your teeth. A dental lab uses these impressions to build a model of your teeth, then create the veneers on that model.

You'll Love Your New Smile
Once they're in place, veneers virtually become part of your teeth. You can use them like you would your own teeth, because the bond is extremely strong. Your final result is a more beautiful, natural-looking new smile.
