Lincoln Says Bailout Needs More Oversight

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Sen. Blanche Lincoln says she's concerned that the Bush administration's $700 billion plan to bail out the financial industry includes little oversight by Congress.

Lincoln, D-Ark., said in a letter sent to Senate Banking Committee leaders on Tuesday that any bailout package must include more oversight and accountability than the plan proposed by the Bush administration. Lincoln also said that the package must include limits on the salaries of executives whose companies take advantage of the government bailout.
