Batesville Man Accused of Stealing Farm Equipment

BATESVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A Batesville man has been arrested on suspicion of setting fire to a tractor and stealing several other pieces of farm equipment in Independence County. Police arrested 27-year-old Donald Williams on Thursday.

Williams is accused of arson in the blaze of a $4,000 Ford tractor that was found burned Sept. 9. Williams is also accused of stealing a $15,000 John Deere hay baler and a $3,000 New Holland hay rake on Sept. 15 and a large steel beam on Sept. 19.

The Independence County sheriff's office says Williams was arrested on suspicion of arson, felony theft and criminal mischief. --- Information from: Batesville Guard,
