Dow Sinks Almost 700 Points As Bailout Initially Fails in House

NEW YORK CITY (KAIT) - As the bailout bill was presented for vote in the House, it was unable to pass in the first vote and Wall Street reacted with a near 700 point sink.

With with a slim margin of representatives voting more NAY then YEA, the bill did not make it to the Senate just yet, but will continue to be worked on until leaders reach agreement. It could still pass.

Following the first tumble, the Dow climbed back to near -400 at 1:00 PM.
