Group Gives $500K for UAMS Satellite Campus

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The Care Foundation of Springdale has donated a half million dollars to help fund development of the northwest satellite campus of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

The foundation says the money will be used to encourage matching gifts of between $5,000 and $50,000. The satellite campus will be housed at the former Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The satellite campus is to open for the fall 2009 semester. The campus will include the UAMS colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy and Health Related Professions.
