Beebe to Speak at Museum Gala in Batesville Tonight

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Governor Mike Beebe will be the keynote speaker tonight in Batesville at the 10th Anniversary Gala of the Old Independence Regional Museum at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville.

The evening is designed to be semi-formal and celebrative, with guests seated for a plate dinner and an evening of entertainment.

The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be former U.S. Senator Kaneaster Hodges, who has served Arkansas in many capacities, including being legislative secretary to Governor David Pryor, Chairman of the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, and commissioner on the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

The museum is honoring three families who became lead donors when the facility was established ten years ago.  At that time, the Preston and Charlotte Grace family, the Doyle and Raye Rogers family, and the J.K and Cleo Southerland family caught the vision of having a regional museum established in Batesville, and invested in it.
