Riverside High School Briefly in Lockdown Today

LAKE CITY, AR (KAIT) - Riverside High School was under lockdown this morning after a student received a text message stating that 3 students were going to be shot.

The suspect listed the potential targets by name.

School administrators immediately went into lockdown and notified authorities. The Lake City Police Department conducted a search of the lockers. Students sat through a 2 1/2 hour lockdown with no further incidents.

The superintendent Tommy Knight notified students that everyone was safe, and that the lockdown was part of the procedure following a threat.

Class resumed following the incident.
