Sheriff's Deputies Investigating Apparent Arsons in Grubbs

GRUBBS, AR (KAIT) - The light of day brought some disturbing news to residents in the small Jackson County hamlet of Grubbs this morning.

Sheriff's deputies are investigating at least three fires that were apparently set overnight, including the burning of one house.  Few official details are available at this time, but a detective with the Jackson Co. Sheriff's Dept. did confirm for Region 8 News that deputies are investigating a series of mysterious fires that occured there overnight.  The detective stopped short of calling the fires arson, since the investigation is in the early stages at this point.

Two callers to the KAIT Newsroom said, in addition to the housefire, a pair of tractor-trailer rigs were burned, as well as a combine.

Region 8 News will have more information as it becomes available.
