Police Shake-Up in Cherokee Village

CHEROKEE VILLAGE, AR (KAIT) - Region 8 News has learned of an apparent shake-up in the police department at Cherokee Village.

Mayor Lloyd Hefley confirmed for KAIT this morning that he has received the resignation of Police Chief Scott Goodwin.  Hefley also confirmed that Sergeant Ric Morris has been demoted to the rank of patrolman within the department.

At this time, the city is currently without a ranking police chief, though Hefley indicated that position will probably be filled, at least on an interim basis, when the Cherokee Village City Council meets tomorrow night.
