LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Lt. Gov. Bill Halter and his wife have another pre-election baby.
Shanti Halter, the lieutenant governor's wife, gave birth to a baby girl at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock on Monday. Julia Nancy Halter weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and is 19.5 inches long, Halter's office said.
"God has blessed us with a second beautiful, healthy baby girl. Mother and daughter are doing great," Halter said in a news release issued by his office.
Halter, who is campaigning for a state-run lottery proposal on the Nov. 4 ballot, was elected lieutenant governor in 2006. Shortly before that election, he and his wife celebrated the birth of their first child, Lauren Renee Halter.
