In 2000, according to the National Fire Protection Association, 3,420 Americans were killed and another 16,975 were injured as a result of fire. Direct property loss due to fires was estimated at $5.5 billion. Fire killed more Americans than all natural disasters combined. 85% of all fire deaths occurred in residences. With these startling statistics in mind, here are some safety tips for you:

Arkansas Professional firefighters are the main fundraising organization for "Camp Sunshine" a 4 day camp each summer for children who have been victims of burn accidents.  Firefighters also attend the camp as staff, counslors, and mentors. 
Jonesboro Firefighters Local 3718 each year host a number of fundraisers to support ACH camp sunshine, from softball tournaments to the Annual Haunted House held in October.  Indvidual donations are also accepted and given on behalf of the Jonesboro Firefighters local 3718 and the their community.
