WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. -- A state legislator says a special legislative session may be needed if Arkansas is to attract a Toyota auto plant to a site being considered near West Memphis.
Two Alabama newspapers have reported that a site near West Memphis is one of four locations in the South being considered by Japan's largest automaker for a new, $750 million plant. State Senator Percy Malone of Arkadelphia says the session could be needed to pay for infrastructure that an auto plant would require.
Toyota has not announced plans for the plant site.
