Fatal Fire in Helena-West Helena

HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. (AP) - The mayor of Helena-West Helena says one person is dead after an early morning fire in the east Arkansas city.

James Valley says the coroner responded to the house fire around 5:30 a.m. Friday. Valley says the identity of the victim has yet to be released as police try to locate family members.

Valley says the victim appeared to have been sitting up, asleep on a couch in the home's living room when the fire struck. Valley says no foul play is suspected in the blaze.
