Region 8 Responds Generously To A Jonesboro Family That Lost Everything In A Fire

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -- "I'm very thankful.  I've never been more thankful for anything in my life," said Brandon Stewart.  Brandon Stewart and his soon to be wife Cari sort through roomfuls of generous donations made by kind strangers. Brandon scrolls through dozens of unknown numbers--the majority wanting to know how they can help.

"I just thank God so much for people being so kind hearted and thinking about us during this time," said Cari Duncan.

Brandon and Cari say the calls and visitors come often.  Even during our interview, there was a knock on the door.  A kind stranger donated an armload of toys for his girls, 5-year-old Reily and 1-year- old Peyton.  Just a few minutes later, a group of ladies from Paragould did some last minute Christmas shopping for a family of strangers that they now can call friends.

"There was a need. When there are kids involved...our hearts are involved," said Jody Whitaker.

Cari says she's amazed by the donations.

"I can't even explain in words how happy and grateful I am," said Duncan.

Cari says she's so thankful for everything she has and reminded of the true meaning of the holiday season.
