Davis Becomes Judge After 16 Years as Prosecutor

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Former long-time prosecutor Brent Davis is now a sitting judge. Davis prosecuted some of Arkansas' highest profile cases, including the prosecution of three teenagers accused of killing three West Memphis boys and the juvenile case against two boys found guilty of the fatal shootings at Westside Middle School.

Davis was prosecutor for 16 years before running for circuit judge and taking the bench this year for six northeast Arkansas counties.

He says the discretion he used as prosecutor in deciding which cases to pursue will also serve him as judge in weighing the evidence.
