4 Students Allegedly Send 7th Grade Annie Camp Student to Hospital

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A 7th grade Annie Camp Junior High student was beaten down by 4 other students Thursday, according to police.

Jonesboro Police's juvenile division tells Region 8 News that the victim's injuries were not severe but did result in blood being brought on the child's face. The child was taken by ambulance to the hospital as a matter of procedure, according to police.

Apparently, 4 students with age ranging from 12-14 allegedly beat the 7th grader up at or near the YMCA, which is just down the road from Annie Camp Junior High on West Nettleton.

Jonesboro Police say the suspects are expected to face a 3rd degree battery charge with possible enhancement for violent group activity. If the charge is enhanced, police say that will make it a class D felony.

Since all involved are juveniles, none of the names are being released by police.
