Former Region 8 teacher found guilty of sex offenses

MELBOURNE, Ark. (AP) - A jury has found a former Izard County teacher guilty of 16 charges alleging he had sexual contact with students at his school.

Brock Felton fainted immediately after being found guilty Friday of 12 counts of sexual indecency with a child and four counts of second-degree sexual assault. An ambulance took Felton, 33, to a local hospital, delaying the start of the sentencing phase of his trial.

Circuit Judge Tim Weaver ordered the jury to return Saturday morning to begin sentencing.

Felton was a band and choir teacher at Izard County Consolidated Schools. He was arrested after an Arkansas State Police investigation into his actions around male students.
