Plane Crash in New York, Rescue Operation Underway

NEW YORK (KAIT) - Flight 1549 from New York to Charlotte has crashed into the Hudson River.

At this point, no injuries have been reported. A passenger speaking with CNN reports all 146 passengers got off of the plane safely, though that has not been confirmed.'

Emergency responders, including divers, are reportedly on the scene.

ABC reports that the crash may have been caused by a bird strike.

The plane was taking off from La Gaurdia.

WABC-TV in New York reports the temperature at a frigid 21 degrees.
