Jonesboro, AR (KAIT) - Region 8 News is watching several breaking news stories at this hour.

US Airways flight 1549 from NYC to Charlotte crash landed in the Hudson River shortly after takeoff.  The FAA says everyone made it off the plane safely.  Investigators on the scene believe a flock of birds make have flown into the path of the plane, bringing it down.

Jonesboro firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in North Jonesboro.  When officers first arrived, it appeared as though someone was trapped inside.  As the firefighters made it inside, no one was home.
