Approximately 3,500 Experience Outages from Craighead Electric

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Approximately 3,500 customers of Craighead Electric Cooperative have experienced an outage due to the ice storm.

Customers from Marmaduke, Lafe, Oak Grove, Walnut Ridge, Walcot, South West Paragould and Brookland experienced most of the outages reported, according to Monty Williams of Craighead Electric.

"We would like to stress, if you see a power line down or a tree touching the power line stay away, it could still be energized." said Brian Duncan, president/CEO of Craighead Electric, "And please call the Craighead Electric outage number at 1-888-771-7772.  We are working diligently and safely to restore service to our member as quickly as possible."

Craighead Electric Cooperative serves approximately 27,000 members in 8 counties across Northeast Arkansas.
