Ice Storm Moves Through Region 8

Jonesboro, AR (KAIT) - A Winter Storm Warning remains for much of Region 8 Tuesday night and Wednesday. Freezing rain is expected to change over to sleet and snow overnight, according to KAIT Chief Meteorologist Ryan Vaughan.

The additional precipitation will make driving very difficult overnight and Wednesday morning. The ice has broken trees and power lines knocking out power to thousands in Region 8.

There are several shelters open for those without power:
