Known precautionary boil orders are in effect for water systems at Cardwell in Dunklin County, Corning, Lawrence County Regional Water System, and Black Oak.

City of Bay is NOT under a boil order.   Other rural Craighead water systems are being verified on boil order status at this time.

In Craighead County, storm debris should NOT be taken to any landfills at this time.  Just pile debris off the highways and streets at this time; officials are in the process of deciding the next course of action

From Fire Depts. : After a couple of house fires overnight, fire officials urge citizens using space heaters to NOT dry clothes on them, be sure they have an automatic shut-off switch when tipped-over, and to keep small children away from them

In all areas with heavy ice accumulations, stay indoors unless it is absolutely necessary to venture out for life's necessities.   Many utility lines are still down, or partially down, blocking roadways, streets, and driveways.

Continue to stay away from ice-covered trees as limbs could still break, resulting in bodily harm.

DO NOT use alternative heat sources meant to used outdoors such as charcoal grills.  Deadly carbon monoxide gas can build up in enclosed spaces in a matter of minutes.  Emergency rooms in Region 8 have already had to deal with CO poisoning cases in near-death circumstances.

Police departments in all areas are reminding residents that intersections without operational signals should be treated strictly as a 4-way stop!

A DUSK TO DAWN curfew is in effect in Marmaduke, Kennett, Newport, Piggott, Lake City, Bono, and Bay.

From AT&T:  Normally low voltage phone lines may now be carrying higher voltages via contact with other live utility lines, or due to other damage issues.

Additional announcements and local information will be relayed as it becomes available.
