Clay County Electric Seeing Some Success

CORNING (KAIT) - Nick Manatt of Clay County Electric Co-op relayed this update late Thursday afternoon:

We are probably still at 95% to 98% of our members without power. We have received 100 men with several more arriving late tonight and starting work tomorrow from utility companies outside our area.

We have been able to keep East Pocahontas restored and are beginning to add a few circuits in our Randolph county area.

We will have a better idea of work schedule once the transmission lines energize our substations. We would also stress for people attempting to clean up limbs and debris stay away from power lines because they can become energized at any time.

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our members that we are doing everything humanly possible to restore power as quick and safe as possible.
