February's Teacher of the Month

MARMADUKE (KAIT) A Marmaduke Elementary 4th grade teacher is this months Teacher of the Month.

Lynda Dickinson will be retiring this year after 38 years.

Dickinson says her teaching style is to look for the good in her students.

"I try to look at things on the positive side. You can fuss at a child, but if you focus in on that positive. They're gonna do so much better for you."

Miss Lynda's grand daughter Jordan Mays is in her 4th grade class, she says it was kind of strange at first but now she is just another student, more or less.

"She don't treat you like a Nan or a guardian or something. She treats you like a student like all the other students. She's harder on me sometimes."

When that final bell rings and her teaching career comes to a close. What will Miss Lynda look back on the most?

Dickinson, "I think feeling that I have made a difference in the lives of some children who have come through my doors."

Three generations worth to be exact.
