Paragould man charged in child porn case

Memphis, TN (KAIT) - A federal grand jury has charged a Paragould man with possession of child pornography.

Robert Joseph Tower, age 44, of Paragould, was charged Wednesday in West Tennessee District Court.  According to U.S. Western District Attorney Lawrence J. Laurenzi, Tower and 8 others were involved with distribution, receipt, and possession of child pornography, and use of a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.

The indictments were the result of investigations conducted by the FBI Memphis Crimes Against Children Task Force, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the United States Postal Inspection Service.

The cases are part of the Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.  For more information about Project Safe Childhood, visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
