Accident injures Southeast Missouri coach

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Southeast Missouri State University officials say their head women's basketball coach, John Ishee, has been injured in a car accident.

It happened early Sunday morning in St. Louis County.

The university's athletic director, John Shafer, says Ishee is hospitalized in St. Louis and will be there "for observation and testing for the next 48 hours."

Shafer says assistant coach Chris Harris will handle the head coaching duties Tuesday when Southeast Missouri State plays at Tennessee State.

University officials say they will release more information on Ishee as it becomes available.
