NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Bianca Thomas scored a career-high 31 points to help lead Mississippi to a 65-60 victory over Arkansas in the opening game of the Southeastern Conference Women's Tournament.
Arkansas outrebounded Ole Miss 40-26, but Mississippi turned the ball over only three times in the second half. The Rebels outshot the Razorbacks from the free-throw line - 15 of 21 compared to 6 of 12 - and were able to keep a scant lead after Arkansas' Lyndsay Harris tied it at 50 on a long 3 with 7:09 to play.
Ninth-seed Ole Miss advances to play top seed Auburn tomorrow.
Whitney Jones scored 19 for eighth-seed Arkansas.
Thomas, who made 3 of 7 3-point attempts and was 6 of 10 from the line, scored 19 in the first half.
