Northeast Arkansas Schools Receive Education Grants

LITTLE ROCK (KAIT) The Arkansas Department Of Workface Education has awarded $3 million in grants to 74 Arkansas Schools.

10 Schools in Region 8 will receive over $300 thousand dollars to be used for various educational programs.

The agency awards the grants every year to be used for equipment purchase, create new Career and Technical Education courses or programs of study.

Some of the grants were awarded to Region 8 schools for job development for graduates, Renewable Energy, Digital Communications, Biological Plant Science and Consumer Services.

The three highest recipients in Northeast Arkansas were the East Arkansas Secondary center with a grant for $127 thousand for Renewable Energy, Izard County Consolidated High School with $49 thousand dollars for digital communications and the Osceola High School for a $48 thousand dollar grant for Plant Science.
