WYNNE, AR (KAIT) - A man faces a charge of internet stalking after police say he was caught kissing a child at the movies.
Wynne police arrested 23-year-old Timothy Roland after patrons reported seeing him kiss a young girl on two separate occasions at the Wynne Twin Cinema.
On Oct. 15, after customers reported seeing the two kiss, employees told Roland and the girl to “stop their behavior and watch the movie,” according to a news release from Detective Daniel Getchell.
After the movie let out, the workers reportedly saw Roland kissing the child in the parking lot and, once again, told them to stop.
“The man and child left the theater in different vehicles as officers were being notified,” Getchell stated.
On Oct. 23, officers were called back to the business when Roland and the child returned. At that time, officers learned that the girl was a young teenager.
During questioning, Detectives Getchell and Steven Hallmark reportedly gathered information to charge Roland with internet stalking of a child.
Roland appeared before a Cross County district judge on Oct. 25 who found probable cause to arrest him and set his bond at $50,000. He is currently free on bond awaiting his next court appearance.
Getchell thanked the theater customers and employees for taking action.
“Without the help from the citizens we serve, this crime would have possibly never been uncovered,” Getchell said. “As with all crime, we ask the people of Wynne to keep an eye out for one another.”
He also thanked several officers for their hard work on the case.
