JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A little piece of winter wonderland opened up right here in Jonesboro.

The First Community Bank Wonderland Ice Skating Rink had its third annual opening on Monday.

It's something the city has been working all month long to set up.

The rink is located in the parking lot along the 300-block of Union Street.

Several people, from little kids to grandparents, got out on the ice Monday night.

“We’re ice skating because it’s a fun thing to do in the winter,” said Zane Caldwell.

“And we just love skating,”added Eszlee Hawkins.

The rink is part of the city’s annual Winter Wonderland event, which opens Nov. 26.

The rink will be open through the end of the year. Hours will be 4 to 10 p.m. weekdays, 1 to 10 p.m. Saturdays, and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Skate sessions are 45 minutes and start at the top of each hour.

Skates are provided for a $5 fee.

Group rates for 25 participants or more are available on Sundays for $130 and up. Group rentals are one-hour slots starting at 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9 p.m.

School classes can also rent the rink for field trips during school hours.
