WYNNE, AR (KAIT) - The trial of a Cross County woman arrested in Sept. 2017 in connection with a sexual assault case has been continued.

The trial of Veronica Blake, who is accused of sexually assaulting nine juveniles in a several month period in 2017, was supposed to begin on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

But Circuit Clerk Rhonda Sullivan tells Region 8 News that the case has been continued until March 2019. Blake’s pre-trial is scheduled to begin on March 3 with a March 25 trial date set.

Blake was arrested on suspicion of six counts of rape, seven counts of computer or child pornography, and one count of sexual indecency with a minor.

Our sister station, WMC-TV in Memphis, initially reported that her trial had begun as scheduled.

Cross County authorities originally got a report that three juveniles had been reportedly assaulted, but found out there were nine victims as authorities expanded their investigation, WMC reported.
