JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Arkansas State’s recruiting class has 17 players so far. Some of those you’ve already watched in the 2018 season. Jerry Jacobs, Forrest Merrill, and Jeffmario Brown enrolled this fall but count towards the 2019 class.
14 players put pen to paper today with the Red Wolves. Quarterback Coltin Clack is from Texarkana, Texas, Blake Anderson compared the 3-star to Justice Hansen. Wide receiver Jeff Foreman hails from Oklahoma and chose A-State over some Big 12 offers. Safety Jarius Reimonenq played in the Mississippi 6A state finals and in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game.
Rivals ranks the Red Wolves class as the best in the Sun Belt.
“We’re not quite done yet, we got a few spots to fill," said head coach Blake Anderson. “Still a chance we may pick up 1 more guy between now and the dead period hits again. But if not, we’ll carry those spots into February recruiting period. Kinda always intended being that the case having a couple spots left, and didn’t want to rush. Felt like all these guys that signed today were quality players, did not want to wait. Wanted to go ahead and get em locked up, didn’t have any doubts about them. We’ll continue to try to build this process as we go into August next year, and potentially add a few guys to the roster then. It’s just a continuing balancing act to do so to try to get our numbers to a point where we can have some depth and maintain some stability and to continue to compete for championships.”
