GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The holidays are a tough time of the year for a local grocery store owner.

But his new tradition of giving back helps him get more in the Christmas spirit.

Lorado Grocery and Grill Owner Randy Pugsley lost family member and coworker Stacy Quintana three years ago just days before Christmas.

In her memory, he started hosting a Christmas party for area kids.

Held right inside the Lorado Grocery and Grill building, local churches and community members donate to make sure kids that are less fortunate have Christmas presents to unwrap.

"Stacy was always fond of children, anytime there were kids that come in she would always give them candy," Pugsley said. "So we felt what better way of giving back than giving to the kids that she loved and we do too."

This is only the second year Pugsley has held this event, and he said it's nearly doubled in size, serving 42 kids Thursday night.

Pugsley said he is overwhelmed with all of the support and doesn’t plan on giving up this tradition any time soon.
