POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) -Health care employees work to support future generations.

Members of Missouri Highlands Health Care donated $200 to Poplar Bluff Junior High.

The money will be used for the life skills program at the school.

Students get to fix breakfast for community groups like local firefighters and pastors.

Not only do students learn these life skills but gain one on one information from professionals in a variety of fields.

Missouri Highlands Director Alex Hathcoat said this is a program that helps make a difference.

“This program truly touches my heart,” Hathcoat said. “I wish all schools had this.”

Missouri Highlands provides health care to low income families and is located at the Black River Medical Center in Mansion Mall.

This nonprofit also contains the only dental practice that accepts Medicaid in Butler County, according to Chief Operations Officer Debbie Tarvid.
