Puppy found in trash bag, looking for home in Poplar Bluff, MO

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - After a pit-mix puppy was found in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, animal control officers came to the rescue.

In a Facebook post on Jan. 8, officers said the male pup was found rooting around inside a trash bag.

Officers said it got out from its yard and left home.

Poplar Bluff Animal Control Officer Dan St. Lawrence said the owner has not come forward.

“Our goal is to get the dog a home,” Lawerence said.

They took the dog to the shelter gave it food, water and a warm bed.

As of Tuesday, Jan. 15 Poplar Bluff Animal Control will begin contacting potential families for the dog. Three people have offered to give it a home.

They said this breed of dog is not allowed in city limits this means whoever gets the dog will have to live outside Poplar Bluff.
