GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Greene County Tech student was hurt after being hit by a school bus Monday afternoon.

Lt. Brad Snyder with Paragould police said that at around 3:50 p.m., officers were called to a pedestrian versus vehicle collision at the corner of Walcott Road and Tech Street.

According to Greene County Tech School District Superintendent Gene Weeks, one of the district’s buses was dropping a group of students off when a boy stopped to tie his shoe in a blind spot of the bus.

Weeks said the bus did not run over the boy, but it did hit him, causing minor injuries.

The student was taken to the hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries, according to Snyder.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing at this time.
