POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) - An exciting performance will take place at the end of the month.
The Kissinger & Kirkman Investment Center is sponsoring the Patrons of the Arts presentation of the Russian National Ballet.
This is a world-famous Moscow based troupe that will perform Sergei Prokofiev’s “Cinderella”.
President of Three Rivers College Dr. Wesley Payne said he and those who helped make this event a reality are proud to have a performance of this caliber on campus.
“We feel very fortunate to have the prestigious Russian National Ballet perform on our campus,” Dr. Payne said. “It’s the mission of our Patrons of the Arts organization to bring high-quality performances like this one to our students, faculty, staff, and community throughout the year. Thanks to the ongoing fundraising efforts of Patrons of the Arts, we can keep our ticket prices very affordable—much more affordable than comparable performances in St. Louis or Memphis.”
Dr. Payne said everyone is thrilled about the event.
“A performance of this caliber is of course very exciting for our fine arts department,” Dr. Payne said. “As well as for everyone on campus and in our community. It’s on track to be a sellout.”
This is also a rare opportunity to expose students to.
“In addition to enjoying the beauty of the performance,” Dr. Payne said. “I hope that our students recognize all the years of hard work it takes to perform at that level. I hope it inspires them to pursue their dreams with that kind of commitment and passion.”
The performance will take place at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers College Campus in Poplar Bluff on Jan. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
