JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Memphis man appeared Thursday in a Jonesboro courtroom for a bond hearing on a rape charge.
32-year-old King Henry McWilliams III was arrested after an investigation by Jonesboro police.
He appeared in Craighead County District Court before Judge Tommy Fowler on Jan. 17.
According to a probable cause affidavit narrative, McWilliams was a family member of the victim.
Toward the end of October and beginning of November 2018, the court document said McWilliams began having sexual conversations with the victim. Those conversations progressed to a physical assault that happened in a laundry room, authorities said.
The affidavit further stated McWilliams told her if she said anything to anyone, she and her siblings would be taken away.
His bond was set at $100,000 and he now faces a felony rape charge.
