JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The construction launch for the Disaster Training Facility pavilion in Imboden will take place Friday in Jonesboro.

According to a news release, in 2017, Arkansas State University signed long-term lease agreements with the cities of Imboden and Walnut Ridge to build disaster preparedness training facilities.

The launch will take place in the Lobby of the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Health Sciences on A-State Campus Friday at 2 p.m.

It was originally scheduled to take place in Imboden, but was moved due to the chance of inclement weather.

The lease with the city of Imboden covers over 183 acres and will be rent free for the first five years.
