CAVE CITY, AR (KAIT) - A now-former Independence County deputy will appear in court Feb. 7 after his arrest Jan. 15, according to authorities.

Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts said John Marlow, who was an Independence County sheriff’s deputy at the time, was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and disorderly conduct.

Cave City police got a call around 8:20 a.m. Jan. 15 about a domestic case.

Counts said Cave City police and Sharp County deputies went to the scene and arrested Marlow.

He is currently out on a $1,500 bond.

Marlow will appear before District Judge Mark Johnson on the Feb. 7 court date.

Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens said Marlow has been terminated from his position as a deputy.
