Human remains identified as missing man in Dunklin County, MO

DUNKLIN COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - According to Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder, human remains were found off of AB Highway on Wednesday, January 16.

The skeletal remains have been identified as Steven Wayne Ketchum.

On Jan. 16 Coroner James Powell was called to the scene and his office is assisting in the investigation.

Sheriff’s Office officials said Law Enforcement officers from the Dunklin County Sheriffs' Office, Missouri Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control, Malden Police Department and the Dunklin County Coroner went to the area provided by the caller and secured skeletal remains found in the area.

The remains were turned over to the Dunklin County Coroner who took the remains to the Parkland South Medical Facility in Farmington, Missouri for examination and identification.

Coroner James Powell said the cause of death remains under investigation.

Dental records were used to identify the remains as Ketchum who had been reported missing by the Malden Police Department on July 15, 2018.
