JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The human remains found in a wooded area in November 2018 near the Southside Softball Complex in Jonesboro have been identified.

Jonesboro police said in a news release on Friday the remains were identified as James Doyle Murray, 47, of Jonesboro.

Police say Murray was reported missing by his mother on July 7, 2013.

A Jonesboro police incident report stated Murray’s mother last heard from him in December 2012 when he was in the Craighead County Detention Center.

The report states he was in the CCDC with mental health issues and was taken before a judge for the issue. It went on to say officials were trying to get him into a mental health facility.

The Arkansas State Crime Lab made the positive identification.
