(WGAL/NBC News) Vern Fillmann stared in disbelief at the wreckage of his Ford SUV Tuesday morning after walking away from a crash on Pennsylvania’s Route 30. He can’t believe he lived through it.
“It was like a rollercoaster ride with more smoke and noise,” Fillman said. “It was bad.”
His morning commute came to abrupt and alarming end, with his SUV pushed up onto the cab of a truck, and with another car crushed underneath.
Fillmann was on his way home from work when he felt something crash into his car and push him down Route 30. When it stopped, Fillmann jumped out of his car and struggled to open the door of the one below him, flattened from both ends.
“We finally got the door opened up and waited for the paramedics to get here,” Fillmann said. “He was conscious when he left.”
Fillmann said the truck driver told him she choked on coffee while driving, blacked out, and didn’t remember causing the crash. Read more: http://bit.ly/2Wb56Mj
