JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -Jonesboro firefighters responded to a fully involved structure fire before noon on Jan. 30.
When they arrived at the 1500-block of North Easy Street, smoke and flames were coming from the building.
Division Chief of Training for the Jonesboro Fire Department Eric Simmons said they kept the fire from spreading to any nearby homes.
“It was contained to the one building,” Simmons said. “There were no exposures that we can see so far.”

The structure was a detached garage that fortunately no one was in.
Simmons said they contacted the power company as a safety precaution.
“No special issues,” Simmons said. “Just trying to get the electric turned off so no one gets shocked. The car is burned up pretty good, but we really weren’t too concerned with that.”
They responded with three engines, two ladder trucks and two battalion chiefs.
Where the fire originated and why it started is unknown at this time.
