JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - There may not be snow on the ground, and the temperatures are warming up, but one Region 8 school will be closed through the remainder of the week.
The Cross County School District posted on social media Thursday that due to continuing problems with an off-campus water line, classes for the rest of the week have been canceled.
Students will still have to study.
“We will utilize AMI Day 3,” the post stated.
Home ballgames scheduled for Thursday night were also canceled.
“We hate that this circumstance outside of our control has kept us from teaching and learning this week,” said Superintendent Nathan Morris. “But we will always put the safety, comfort, and concern for our students and staff first.”
The district dismissed classes at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday after the main water line was cut.
