LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) - A resolution before the state legislature would encourage the continued collaboration among healthcare providers, law enforcement, educators, and other public officials in tackling prescription drug abuse.
State Representative Justin Boyd, District 77, said prescription drug abuse is an issue in Arkansas and the resolution acknowledges that the Board of Pharmacy, Board of Medicine, law enforcement, and stakeholders need to work together to come up with the right solutions for the state.
“I want people all across the state of Arkansas to understand that this is an important issue, it’s not an issue to just say hey we’re trying to limit access to people that need them," Boyd said. “This is saying, hey, there is a challenge with prescription drug abuse in all of the state.”
Boyd said everyone needs to work together to solve this unique challenge and that more needs to be done.
