JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -The Northeast Arkansas Humane Society and Craighead County deputies rescued an injured, eight-month-old dog over the weekend and now they want your help.

According to a Facebook post, the deputies discovered the dog on Sunday on the side of the road near Lacy Dr. in Jonesboro.

After the rescue, deputies and the NEAHS noticed the dog was likely dumped with a bowl of food and water, along with her collar.

NEAHS took the dog to the Animal Medical Center, where she was treated immediately for mange and infection and will also receive treatment for intestinal worms.

According to the post, the dog will spend the next few nights at the vet before being taken to NEAHS for adoption.

Now, NEAHS is asking for help in providing donations to help the dog. You can donate by going to their Facebook page and visiting the post.
