JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Region 8 could see its first severe weather event of the year.
Thunderstorms, including one or two supercells, could trigger tornado watches and warnings Wednesday afternoon and evening, according to Chief Meteorologist Ryan Vaughan.
Just after 7:30 a.m., radar showed storms extending from Craighead County to Pemiscot.
Meteorologist Bryan McCormick is keeping an eye on a cluster of storms building in Northwest Arkansas that were dropping 1-2 inches of rain an hour.
