JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro fire crews responded to a roof collapse Monday morning at Colson Casters, 3700 Airport Rd.

According to Jeff Presley, E911 director for Jonesboro and Craighead County, a large section of the roof fell in the warehouse.

“It appears to be a partial building collapse,” Tom Johnson, Battalion Chief with the Jonesboro Fire Department, said. “Possibly a fifty by one hundred section of roof and walls in the back part of the structure.”

Around 34 employees were at work when the collapse occurred, but all were accounted for.

No injuries were reported and workers were sent home for the day.

The factory remained closed Tuesday so an engineer can inspect the building to make sure it is safe.

Hourly production staff will not report for work on the first and second shifts Wednesday. However, front office workers will need to report to work that morning.
