HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT) -The Harrisburg Police Department has a new police chief.

According to a Facebook post, the city swore in Roderick Moore in a ceremony as the new chief.

Moore has eight years of experience in law enforcement, ranging from jailer, patrolman, lieutenant, and was the former police chief for the city of Weiner.

According to the post, Moore is also serving as a soldier in the Tennessee Army National Guard.

Moore said he’s excited to bring back “Community Policing” to the town and said his top priorities include school safety, community relations, and officer safety.
